Stefano Teani

Conductor, Composer, Pianist

Stefano Teani (Lucca, 1994) is a versatile musician with a strong theatrical sensibility and a natural vocation for music born from the encounter and transformation of different languages.

He graduated in Piano from ISSM “L. Boccherini” in 2014 with highest honors, distinction, and honorable mention. In the following two years, he earned diplomas in Composition and in Applied Music for Film, both with top marks. In 2018, he was appointed Composer in Residence at the Accademia di Montegral.

His work as a répétiteur began in 2013. In 2015 he was selected as suitable candidate in the audition for répétiteurs at the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and was admitted to Gustav Kuhn’s Accademia di Montegral, with which he has collaborated regularly. In 2016 he was personally selected by Riccardo Muti to attend the Italian Opera Academy.

He studied Conducting with Günter Neuhold, Marcello Bufalini, Gustav Kuhn, Maurizio Barbacini, and Antonello Allemandi. He conducts both symphonic and operatic repertoire, with particular attention to contemporary music. In 2020 he conducted La serva padrona at the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca. As Music Director of the Opera Studio Molise project, starting in 2020 he conducted numerous operas—including Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Rigoletto, La traviata, Il barbiere di Siviglia, La Bohème, and Carmen—at the Teatro Savoia in Campobasso.
