Twelve events and six weekends of great music
The spring season of Cluster has been presented yesterday at Fondazione Banca del Monte. There will be 12 dates starting from Saturday at 7 p.m. in the oratorio di San Giuseppe of the Duomo di Lucca, for a total amount of six weekends until the end of May. The Aurora Ensemble (flute, guitar, piano), suggested by the SIMC (Società italiana di musica contemporanea) will perform, creating a partnership that will bring the Ethymos Ensemble in Milano, with pieces by Cluster’s members. Among the collaborations, there il the one with Fondazione Puccini, with Conservatorio of La Spezia and the Istituto Mascagni of Livorno. Particularly relevant the show of May 5 at Teatro di San Girolamo (5 p.m.), for the Lucca Classica Festival, that is the starting point of this important partnership.
Two new chamber operas will be performed, composed by the young Cluster members Stefano Teani and Andrea Benedetti, after the international composition course “Giacomo Puccini”, held by Girolamo Deraco (artistic director of Cluster) last July together with other renewed teachers. The course has been already exported twice in Mexico, with bookings for the next months coming from Paraguay, Albany and Hungary. The 2018 spring season of Cluster was presented by the CEO of Fondazione BML Giuseppe Bartelloni, from the DS of Liceo Musicale “Passaglia” Maria Pia Mencacci, the directors of Scuola Sinfonia (Massimo Salotti), Jam (Giampiero Morici) and Fuoricentro (Angelo Biondi), together with the board of Cluster, held by its president Francesco Cipriano.
«A synergy of local institutions that works for music – said Bartelloni -, through an association of young composers on which the Fondazione Bel has always believed». «We want also to emphasize – says Cipriano – the international exchanges we manage with nations from Europe, Asia, America and Japan, successfully exporting the new language of young composers from Lucca. An activity sustained by the Fondazione Bel, with great prospective of cultural expansion». The directors of the local schools confirmed their pleasure to cooperate with Cluster since many years, together with the great challenge these events provide for the students.
